Sierra Love

Sierra Love (b. 1989, California) is an interdisciplinary artist who employs craft and textile to challenge normative ideas of gestural expression. “I start with a question, a true ‘what if’ that I can’t answer without going down the path to explore it. I want that tension, I want the high stakes. I need to be getting in trouble and wondering ‘Is this going to work?’” Love says. Through a patient and deliberate process, Love redefines conventional ideas of gesture, investigating how structure and form can come together to evoke a sense of energy and expression. Love’s works are often created peripatetically through her travels, not only as an actor, but also in her role as a contemporary art consultant. Love is included in the private collections of multiple museum trustees. She resides in Los Angeles.
