I had an unconventional upbringing in Central Florida often escaping to the outdoors where I took up photography and journaling. This led to my study of B&W film photography and creative writing. Eventually, I headed west to settle down in San Francisco and obtained a Master’s in Psychology. In San Francisco, I began to experiment with the intersection of art and emotions through oil painting, abstract art, and contemporary dance.
In my paintings, I apply color to convey the memories and emotions I’ve carried from places I’ve been or anxieties provoked by environmental dangers and feelings of oppression. In contrast, the use of rich textures emulates elements in nature that have brought me comfort.
