Karen Morovich
is a watercolor artist who loves color, movement, and art that doesn’t take itself too seriously. She was born and raised in Bakersfield, California and obtained a degree in Finance from Cal State Bakersfield. Her work in watercolor is playful, expressive, and a little unexpected and is focused more on feeling than perfection. Growing up in Bakersfield, California, surrounded by open land and animals, Karen developed a lifelong love of nature that still shows up in her work today. She grew up riding horses and still has a love of them today. Animals, with an emphasis on birds, are a favorite subject, often painted with loose brushstrokes and splashes of color that give them personality and motion.
Karen didn’t take a traditional path to becoming an artist. She studied finance, worked in structured environments, and eventually found her way to creativity as a place of freedom and expression.
