Jeremiah Reyes
Jeremiah Reyes was born in Brooklyn, NY, to parents of Puerto Rican descent. Reyes’s birth also coincided with the birth of Hip Hop and its 5 elements, Basquiat, Haring, RammelZee, among others who were also at the center of it all.
These influences would later help shape a lifelong obsession with lines, perhaps due in part to his decades long relationship with schizophrenia into a way of expressing what he saw and felt. Reyes is self-taught and uses an array of mediums; practically anything available. As an extreme empath, his work can be described as a series of mirrors and windows, dictated by all that is beautiful and ugly inside us.
