Each handcrafted cutting board on display is the work of Stanley Thompson, a dedicated woodworker whose passion lies in turning natural materials into pieces that are both functional and beautiful. With a deep respect for traditional craftsmanship and a keen eye for modern design, Stanley blends form and function to create heirloom-quality kitchenware meant to be used, admired, and passed down.
Based in Bakersfield, CA, Stanley began woodworking over 50 years ago, drawn to the meditative nature of the craft and the rich character of hardwoods like maple, walnut, cherry, mahogany, poplar, padauk, and white oak. What started as a hobby in a small garage workshop has evolved into a practice rooted in sustainability, attention to detail, and a love for the natural beauty of wood.
Each board is carefully designed to highlight the unique grain patterns and tonal contrasts of each species. Every edge, curve, and join is shaped by hand, sanded smooth, and finished with food-safe oils and waxes to enhance both durability and beauty.
No two pieces are alike—each board tells its own story, shaped not just by the wood it comes from, but by the hands that crafted it.
